Angels & Airwaves have shared a visualizer video for their brand new track “Timebomb”, which comes from the group’s first new album in seven years.

Tom DeLonge had this to say about the new song, “‘Timebomb’ is a special song to me because it represents the emotional equivalent of an armed device about to blow. I think everyone can relate to the pressure of life bearing down on a young teenage heart.”

The 10-track new album, entitled “Lifeforms”, is set to hit stores tomorrow, September 24th. Tom said of the album, “It’s taken me a long time to present my art in the way I envisioned over a decade ago. ‘LIFEFORMS’ is the first part of what I saw could be possible then.” Watch the video below:

Mickey Guyton To Be Honored As Breakout Artist of the Year At 2021’s CMT Artists Of The Year

Country superstar Mickey Guyton will be honored as the 2021 CMT Breakout Artist of the Year at October 13’s CMT Artists of the Year event. The proceedings will air LIVE from Nashville’s Schermerhorn Symphony Center at 9p/8c on CMT. This marks only the fourth time in event history this honor will be bestowed, with the GRAMMY-nominated Guyton joining the ranks of previous honorees Chris Stapleton (2015), Kelsea Ballerini (2016), and Ashley McBryde (2019).

“We are thrilled to honor the immensely talented Mickey Guyton as this year’s ‘Breakout Artist of the Year.’ After relentlessly chasing her dreams in country music for years, her perseverance, tenacity and spirit have culminated in this spectacular moment of recognition where she’s finally receiving the credit she deserves,” shared Leslie Fram, Senior Vice President, Music & Talent, CMT.

Guyton’s star has risen and shone on CMT numerous times in 2021 via CMT. At the 2021 CMT Music Awards, she pulled double duty by performing “Cross Country” alongside rising star BRELAND, plus “Friendship Train” with the iconic Gladys Knight. At the event, she also presented Linda Martell with this year’s CMT Equal Play Award. Moreover, in August, she delivered a captivating performance to celebrate the legacy of country music titan Charley Pride for CMT GIANTS: Charley Pride.

2021 “CMT Artists of the Year” will return to its original format after adapting last year to honor some of the most vital and inspirational Americans on the frontlines of the pandemic. This year, Guyton will take the stage alongside previously announced 2021 honorees Chris Stapleton, Gabby Barrett, Kane Brown, Kelsea Ballerini, and Luke Combs and feature never-before-seen performances and collaborations, and congratulatory moments. Musical pairings, special guests, and additional performers and presenters will be announced in the coming weeks.

KISS manager Doc McGhee was the featured guest on the latest episode of the popular Talking Metal podcast and spoke about many topics including sharing some details about the band’s biopic “Shout It Out Loud”.

McGhee says that the plan is for the film to be released theatrically before it will come to the streaming service Netflix and it will focus on the band’s early years.

The film will be directed by Joachim Ronning (Pirates Of The Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales). Doc said of the film, “I think it’s a very interesting look at the formation of KISS, the mindset of how that came about, the social pressure that everybody was in in the ’60s and ’70s that brought something like KISS to the forefront, that it could actually happen.

“So it’s a very interesting, and I think it’s a well-written movie. And our partners right now is Netflix. It’ll be a theatrical release, then Netflix.”

Doc also spoke to the podcast about touring during COVID, the KISS A&E Biography documentary, Bon Jovi, his history, the final KISS show, and more KISS concerts in the second half of 2022. Stream the episode <a href="

Watch Wolf Alice’s haunting live version of ‘Lipstick On The Glass’

Wolf Alice have shared a special live performance of ‘Lipstick On The Glass’ – you can watch it below.

The band performed the ‘Blue Weekend’ track at Union Chapel in Islington, London as part of the Jim Beam Welcome Sessions series.

A choir joins in with the song from the venue’s seating area towards the end of the video, with the band playing on stage. According to an official description, lead singer Ellie Rowsell sang in the choir at the church growing up.

“We wanted to play ‘Lipstick on the Glass’ for its melodic grandeur that we hope pays homage to the space we are in,” Rowsell explained. “It’s a privilege to play here and something we will collectively remember forever.”

The singer went on to say that the performance is Wolf Alice’s “love letter to independent venues and the return of live music gigs”.

Speaking to NME at the ceremony earlier this month, the group’s Theo Ellis said that it was “amazing” to be back out on the road post-COVID restrictions. (Wolf Alice headlined Latitude in July and played a main stage slot at Reading & Leeds last month).

“There’s such a huge and different community of people that have been affected by [the pandemic] in the music world,” Ellis told NME. “It’s not just us – it’s all of our crew, all the people who work at these festivals, all the people who work at venues.

“Just slipping back into that rhythm of normality feels amazing.” See the full video interview above.

Ahead of their lengthy 2022 UK tour, Wolf Alice will play a run of intimate UK shows this month to encourage fans back into grassroots venues as part of the ‘Revive Live’ tour. You can see the full schedule below.
